During the twenty plus years that the founding partners of Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP have represented insurance companies and their insureds, the insurance defense landscape has changed dramatically. Founded in 1998, the Firm was formed to partner with the evolving insurance community to provide the highest quality legal services in a cost-effective and efficient manner. The Firm represents insurers and their insureds in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and throughout the United States as defense counsel, supervisory counsel and coverage counsel. This philosophy has placed us at the forefront of the insurance defense community.
While the success of a law firm may be measured in many ways, we take justifiable pride that Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP is now more than sixty attorneys strong in just over ten years. Together with the support of our clients, the Firm's success is based on a full-service oriented approach that goes beyond the billable hour, and includes presenting seminars, providing valuable insights on cases being handled by other firms, and hosting informal settlement days without the cost of a mediation service.
Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP has assembled a group of seasoned attorneys unparalleled by firms even three or four times our size. We take a flexible, case by case approach, and do not have rigid practice groups in which each partner is protective of his or her own "turf". In this manner, the Firm and its insurer clients are able to rely upon the varied legal experiences and expertise of all of our attorneys. For example, if a slip and fall or automobile accident results in catastrophic injuries, we utilize the unmatched resources of our trial attorneys and paralegals with a medical malpractice background. Similarly, in a construction site accident case that intertwines liability and insurance procurement issues, unlike our peers, we do not have the "construction" lawyer address risk transfer issues and seek to obtain additional insured coverage from another insurer; rather, we utilize a group of attorneys whose entire practice is predicated on insurance coverage.
